Nelson Art Print

Nelson. I meander up her terraced slopes, drawing deep breaths as I climb toward the top of Observatory Street. Along the way, I pass colourful wooden houses, joyful in their shapes, with turrets and wrap around porches. I take it all in and breathe.

At home, I keep going, following the old railway track where things grow wilder, where silence gathers as the trees close in. I climb higher along Raccoon Trail. The creek roars loud, ancient, and something in me prickles.

Ahead, a bear.

My heart stops.

A face carved into a log. 
I laugh.
I breathe again.
